10 fires recorded in Lezha, deliberate arson under investigation

TIRANA, August 13 – The Municipality of Lezha recorded 10 fires across its territory on Wednesday.

Mayor Pjerin Ndreu urged residents to remain extremely cautious. He also called on them to report to authorities anyone identified as starting a fire.

Ndreu said firefighters responded to 10 fires in different areas of Lezha. He highlighted 5 fires that started simultaneously between 21:00 and 22:00. The mayor said the timing raises serious suspicions of deliberate arson or coordinated actions.

Meanwhile, Ndreu said the competent authorities should investigate and clarify the circumstances. He called for responsibility and cooperation in dealing with the situation.

The mayor also warned against indifference, inflammatory claims and unfounded accusations of inaction. He said such responses would not solve the problem. Ndreu stressed that the consequences could prove fatal.
