105 years since the birth of beloved Albanian actor Pandi Raidhi

Albania marks 105 years since the birth of actor Pandi Raidhi.

He remains one of the most beloved figures of Albanian theatre and cinema. He died in Tirana in 1999.

Raidhi co-founded the Professional Estrada of Korça. He also helped establish the “Andon Zako Çajupi” Theatre. He made his film debut in “Tana” in 1958, the first Albanian film.

He performed in around 200 theatre roles and 36 film roles. He created many memorable characters that audiences still remember today.

He appeared in films such as “Yjet e netëve të gjata,” “Nëntori i Dytë,” “Tokë e përgjakur,” and “Zonja nga qyteti.”

Audiences especially remember his role as Xha Bako in “Zonja nga qyteti” and “Një shoqe nga fshati.” They also remember his roles in “Përballimi,” “Liri a vdekje,” and “Njerëz në rrymë,” which became his final film.
