TIRANA, August 13 – Authorities reported 45 fires across Albania during the past 24 hours. Twelve remain active and 1 remains under monitoring.
The Agency for Media and Information said 72 firefighting vehicles and 839 operational personnel have joined the response. The Armed Forces have provided 250 personnel, 5 helicopters and 2 Air Tractor aircraft. Currently, 167 Armed Forces personnel, 3 helicopters and 2 Air Tractor aircraft remain in the field.
Meanwhile, coordinated ground and aerial operations continue in Dajt, Priska e Madhe, Patos-Mallakastër, Kruja, Përmet, Gura-Lura, Devoll, Mirdita and Vau i Dejës.
Authorities continue to prioritise the protection of residents, homes and populated areas. They are also working to isolate and extinguish the active fires as quickly as possible.
Reports so far indicate that fires have burned around 418 hectares and damaged 250 olive trees. The National Civil Protection Agency and all civil protection structures continue to monitor and coordinate operations across the affected areas.
