12-year-old Albanian Ambra Marku to compete at Sanremo Junior

TIRANA, April 7 – Twelve-year-old Ambra Marku from Lezha will compete in the 17th edition of Italy’s Sanremo Junior, held in mid-April at the Ariston Theatre.

Marku, a student at Besëlidhja School, will perform “Valsi i Lumturisë” [Waltz of Happiness] a song by Albanian music icon Vaçe Zela.

For Marku, participating in the competition is a dream come true. “Sanremo Junior was a dream that became reality. I did not expect to reach this stage. It was a complete surprise, and I was very excited,” she said.

Her teacher, Albana Përvathi, emphasized Lezha’s musical talent. “It is a great honor for our city that Ambra represents us this year. She will perform a classic Albanian song, celebrating our cultural heritage,” she said.

Ambra started her musical journey at age six and has won more than 40 awards in competitions across Albania. She aims to make a strong impression at Sanremo Junior.
