20 wildfires managed in 24 hours, 727 operational forces deployed

TIRANA, August 4 – A total of 727 operational forces have worked over the past 24 hours to manage 20 wildfire outbreaks across Albania, Defence Minister Ermal Nufi said.

The response included 128 members of the Armed Forces, 2 firefighting vehicles, 1 medical ambulance and 3 Air Force helicopters. These units supported local emergency structures in their efforts to contain the fires and protect communities.

Nufi praised the commitment of emergency teams and Armed Forces personnel. He said their courage and dedication deserve the highest respect, as they have remained engaged in wildfire management since the beginning of the summer.

The minister highlighted the sacrifice of those who move toward danger to eliminate it rather than step away from it. He thanked the teams for their professionalism and determination in protecting lives, communities and Albania’s natural assets.

Albania is proud of you. Your sacrifice, determination and service represent the best example of duty to the Republic,” Nufi said.
