TIRANA, August 11 – Authorities reported 25 wildfires across Albania over the past 24 hours. Firefighters have extinguished most of the blazes. Five remain active and 1 area remains under monitoring. The Ministry of Defence said 37 firefighting vehicles and 365 operational personnel joined the response. The Armed Forces provided 158 personnel, 10 vehicles and 4 Air Force helicopters.
In Kruja, crews continue operations in Abaze and Krasta–Halil. Helicopters have slowed the spread of the fire. Authorities report no risk to populated areas. In Mallakastër, crews extinguished fires in Riban, Ngraçan, Panahor and Çyçen. A fire has reignited deep inside the forest in Drenie, Patos. Crews continue their response.
Meanwhile, teams in Priska e Madhe, Tirana, continue efforts to control the fire. The blaze poses no risk to populated areas. In Përmet, crews continue operations on Mount Nemërçka, near the Greek border. The fire also poses no risk to populated areas.
Authorities have fully extinguished fires in Cikallesh, Vilëz, Kallmet i Vogël and Goraj–Budisha. Crews continue to monitor the Mount Dajti area. The National Civil Protection Agency and other civil protection structures remain on alert. They continue coordinating field operations until authorities fully contain the remaining fires.
