The Vlora Border Police will continue carrying out daily inspections in Albania’s coastal waters throughout the tourist season, with a focus on ensuring maritime safety and preventing accidents.
The head of the Triport Border Police Station, Amarilda Shabani, said that during July alone, authorities imposed 32 administrative penalties and seized 32 watercraft for violating maritime navigation regulations.
According to Shabani, inspections were primarily focused on Vlora Bay and the Haxhi Ali Cave area, where officers also conducted awareness campaigns, advising boat operators to wear life jackets and comply with safety regulations.
Shabani stressed that there will be zero tolerance for serious violations. During July, authorities imposed two fines of 500,000 Albanian lek each for serious breaches of maritime legislation.
