“Fan S. Noli” University in Korçë is expanding its cooperation with foreign universities. As part of mobility programs, 42 international students have come to Korçë this year, while 14 Albanian students have gone abroad.
“We are in the process of internationalization. We have mobility agreements with several foreign universities. Among academic staff, we have had 73 outgoing and 56 incoming participants. Fourteen of our students have gone abroad through mobility programs, while 42 students from several countries have come here to take part in mobility programs,” said Lorenc Ekonomi, Rector of “Fan S. Noli” University.
The university is expected to further expand its international programs, with a joint doctoral program with a Romanian university and a Master of Science in Computer Science in cooperation with the University of Bari.
Meanwhile, around 330 students have enrolled during the first phase of admissions. The most sought-after programs are Nursing, Sports and Midwifery, while there is also strong interest in Economics, Finance, Management and digital-related programs.
“The new program is Data Science, a bilingual program in Albanian and English, as we hope to attract international students as well. It is a reorganization of the Mathematics and Computer Science program and is based on artificial intelligence, coding and algorithms. This year, we are also launching a joint-degree doctoral program with a Romanian university, as well as a Master of Science in Computer Science with the University of Bari. We also have a dual-degree bachelor’s program with the Polytechnic University,” Ekonomi said.
The university does not plan to introduce new bachelor’s programs, but will reorganize programs with lower demand in line with the needs of the labor market.
