The Dyrrachium International Theater Festival brought a Bulgarian production to the Durrës Amphitheatre. Actor Sevar Ivanov performed the monodrama “The Little Dog Laughed” before an audience at the historic venue.
Directed by Ana Bateva, the production uses humour and irony to present contemporary Bulgarian theatre. Durrës Mayor Emiriana Sako shared moments from the performance. She described it as another artistic experience enriching the festival programme.
“The Little Dog Laughed” has received recognition at international festivals. The production has also won several awards for best actor.
Meanwhile, the festival is bringing foreign theatre companies and artists to Durrës. Their participation creates opportunities for artistic dialogue and cultural exchange. The Durrës Amphitheatre remains one of the main festival venues. It connects the city’s historical heritage with contemporary theatre productions.
