Interest among public administration employees in 0% interest housing loans has significantly exceeded the number of available quotas. By the application deadline, 2,164 applications had been submitted for 300 new home-purchase loans, around seven times the number of expected beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Health recorded the highest number of applications, with 782 applicants competing for 70 available quotas. It was followed by the Ministry of Interior, with 448 applications for 70 quotas, while the Ministry of Education received 444 applications, also for 70 loans.
Overall, demand for the scheme is around seven times higher than the number of available loans, meaning that only a limited share of applicants will ultimately benefit.
The call offered 300 loans at 0% interest, intended to finance the purchase of a home. The amount of financing is determined according to the official reference price, while the size of the property depends on the applicant’s household composition, as stated in their family certificate.
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must be employed in the public administration and meet the criteria established under social housing legislation.
Key eligibility requirements include not owning a home, or living in a property that falls below established housing standards, restrictions regarding other property ownership, and not having previously benefited from other social housing programmes.
