Interior Minister Ervin Demo met with Valentina Superti, Director for the Western Balkans at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement, to discuss Albania’s progress toward EU membership.
Their first meeting focused on the final milestones for Chapter 24, “Justice, Freedom and Security,” and Chapter 22, “Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments.” They also discussed the institutional commitments needed to meet these milestones.
Demo welcomed the European Commission’s readiness to continue providing expertise and assistance on priority issues. He also stressed the need to maintain the pace of reforms and strengthen institutional cooperation as Albania works toward its 2027 objective.
“With commitment, concrete results and close cooperation between our teams, we will continue our work to meet our obligations and advance Albania toward European Union membership,” Interior Minister Ervin Demo said.
