Foreign Minister Hoxha-US Ambassador Wendt meeting: US Embassy highlights 100-year partnership

Foreign Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met US Ambassador to Albania Eric Wendt in the context of more than 100 years of relations between Albania and the United States.

In a social media post, the US Embassy described the meeting as an opportunity to assess the partnership between the two countries and their shared vision for the future.

The embassy said the partnership had developed from President Wilson’s support for an independent Albania (after WWI) to today’s cooperation as NATO allies. It said the two countries continued to expand cooperation in trade, energy security and people-to-people ties.

According to the embassy, this cooperation aimed to contribute to strengthening peace and stability across the Western Balkans.
