Albania welcomes joint Albanian list in Presheva Valley for Serbia elections

Albania’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs welcomed the agreement among Albanian political parties and entities in the Presheva Valley to run on a joint list in Serbia’s October 25, 2026 parliamentary elections.

The ministry congratulated the Albanian political actors in the Presheva Valley for what it described as responsibility, political maturity and vision. It said the agreement sends a message that Albanians can better protect their interests through united and coordinated political representation.

Meanwhile, the ministry said effective representation in the institutions of the country where Albanians live requires unity, responsibility and a common position on issues affecting their rights, welfare and future. It added that the joint list should show how a united political voice can strengthen representation and increase the Albanian community’s role in decision-making processes.

Albania also reaffirmed its support for Albanians in the Presheva Valley. The ministry said Albania would continue to support their rights, fair representation, full equality before the law, and the community’s economic and social development.
