OSCE Highlights Importance of Inclusive Participation in Justice System

The Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Michel Tarran, met today with representatives of the Union of Judges, the National Association of Judges and the Association of Prosecutors of Albania to discuss recent developments in the country’s justice system.

According to the OSCE Presence, the discussion focused on the impact these developments could have on the functioning of the justice system, individual rights and fair trial standards.

Participants also stressed the importance of meaningful involvement from all stakeholders, including justice institutions and other actors within the system, in matters that may affect the administration of justice, the rule of law and public trust.

The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to support dialogue and cooperation among institutions involved in Albania’s justice sector and to strengthen confidence in the rule of law.
