President Begaj urges new magistrates to uphold integrity and responsibility

President Bajram Begaj has called on new magistrates to uphold integrity, responsibility and commitment to justice. He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 2026-2027 academic year at the School of Magistrates.

Begaj said the profession requires more than legal knowledge. He stressed the importance of character, professional maturity and a strong sense of responsibility towards society. The president also urged students to see their education as preparation for the responsibilities they will assume in the justice system.

Meanwhile, Begaj described magistrates as key guarantors of citizens’ rights and freedoms and protectors of the constitutional order. He said their role goes beyond the technical application of the law. The president also called on students to approach their future work with dedication to values, determination and a commitment to serving justice.

Begaj also highlighted public trust as one of the most important assets of the justice system. He said magistrates must earn and preserve that trust by ensuring that every individual receives a fair hearing, every claim receives impartial consideration and the law receives impartial application.
