Ilir Panda elected new President of the Supreme Court

Ilir Panda has been elected the new President of Albania’s Supreme Court. The judges of the Supreme Court unanimously voted in favour of Panda, who was the only candidate in the race.

Fourteen judges took part in the vote, all voting in favour of his candidacy. Panda will lead the Supreme Court for the next three years and will take office on October 19.

He succeeds Sokol Sadushi as President of the Supreme Court.

Ilir Panda graduated in law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana in 1986. He has also completed several postgraduate training programmes organised by Albanian, European and United States institutions.
