Kosova PM Kurti: Council of Europe and Interpol membership would benefit citizens

Kosova Prime Minister Albin Kurti said greater international integration would benefit citizens, particularly through membership in the Council of Europe and Interpol.

Speaking at the opening of the 12th Diplomatic School for young diplomats, Kurti highlighted Kosova’s progress through diplomacy and international cooperation. He said Council of Europe membership would give citizens access to the European Court of Human Rights. Interpol membership would also allow Kosova’s law enforcement agencies to exchange information and cooperate in real time with police worldwide.

Meanwhile, Kosova’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kreshnik Ahmeti said Kosova now maintains more than 50 diplomatic and consular missions in over 30 countries. He described this as a major transformation from the period when the country was under United Nations administration.

Diplomatic Academy Director Mirjeta Behluli said the programme helps young diplomats develop professional skills and build international networks. She added that the academy has signed more than 45 cooperation memorandums with partner institutions worldwide.
