Kosova forms working group for KLA leaders’ appeal

The government of Kosova has established a working group to coordinate a state strategy for the appeal proceedings involving four former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders: Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti described their convictions by the Specialist Chambers as legally and morally unjust. He said the government wanted to challenge what it considers factual and legal inaccuracies. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca will lead the group.

Meanwhile, the government tightened measures against Russia over its war in Ukraine. Konjufca said the decision would align Kosova’s foreign and security policy with that of the European Union.

The government also approved financial support for the Albanian National Council and Albanians in the Presheva Valley. Kurti accused Serbia of repeatedly blocking funds intended for education, families and cultural projects.
