Albanian President Bajram Begaj met with US Ambassador to Tirana Eric Wendt on Tuesday.
The meeting comes at a time when Albania is facing a series of protests, accompanied by clashes between demonstrators and the State Police.
The head of state holds regular meetings with representatives of the diplomatic corps in Tirana. In recent days, Begaj has also met with ambassadors from European Union member states.
According to preliminary information, the situation that has unfolded in the country in recent days as a result of the protests was among the topics discussed.
