Kosova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca accused Serbia of continuing threats against Kosova at a United Nations Security Council meeting. He described a United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosova (UNMIK) report as selective and influenced by Serbian propaganda.
Konjufca said Serbia had killed 12,000 unarmed Albanian civilians during the war. He condemned the report’s description of the September 2023 Banjska attack as a violent incident rather than a terrorist attack.
He said Kosova had strengthened the rule of law, fought corruption and protected human rights. He also highlighted police cooperation with the NATO-led Kosova Force (KFOR) and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosova (EULEX). Public services have also expanded in northern municipalities.
Meanwhile, Konjufca alleged systematic discrimination against ethnic Albanians in Serbia’s Presheva Valley. He called for impartial justice following the recent verdict against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders at the Kosova Specialist Chambers. He said Kosova expected its concerns to be addressed on appeal. Konjufca also demanded justice for wartime victims, including around 20,000 victims of sexual violence.
