Renowned Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho serves as an Artist Ambassador for Opera Rara, a London-based opera organisation dedicated to reviving neglected works and bringing rarely performed repertoire to modern audiences.
Founded in 1970, Opera Rara specialises in researching, restoring, recording and performing operas that have largely disappeared from the mainstream repertoire. Its work helps preserve lesser-known musical heritage and introduces audiences to forgotten composers and compositions.
Jaho has collaborated with the organisation on several recordings, including Leoncavallo’s Zazà, Puccini’s Le Willis and La rondine, as well as Anima Rara. Her work with Opera Rara also includes recordings of songs by Gaetano Donizetti.
Through this collaboration, Jaho contributes to the rediscovery of operatic works that might otherwise remain overlooked. Her international standing and commitment to expressive performance support Opera Rara’s mission to bring this repertoire back to public attention.
