Rama renews call for dialogue with students

TIRANA, November 5 /ATSH/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama has renewed his call for dialogue with protesting students and lecturers, whose demonstration has now entered its 24th day. By placing a traditional stone table—a sofra—outside the Prime Minister’s Office alongside invitations marked “Dialogue,” he again urged the protesters to come to the negotiating table.

While youth protests continue, student opinions remain divided. Some have returned to the classroom, but a small faction is still calling for a strike and urging students to join the mobilization.

Yesterday, a group of young people gathered first in front of the Polytechnic University and subsequently marched toward other faculties, where they entered classrooms and interrupted the teaching process.

So far, the protesters have rejected the prime minister’s invitations for dialogue, demanding his resignation instead.

Rama has expressed readiness to consider proposals from students and lecturers, noting that the government is preparing a package of measures to address their concerns. /r.e/p.s./.
