Albania announce squad for Finland and Belarus, with first call-up for Ismaili

Albania coach Rolando Maran has announced his squad for the national team’s final two Nations League matches against Finland and Belarus. Albania will face Finland at Air Albania Stadium on 12 November before travelling to Hungary to play Belarus behind closed doors on 15 November.

The main surprise is the first call-up for Dinamo right-back Ysni Ismaili. He joins club teammates Aliji and Qefalia, bringing Dinamo’s representation in the squad to three players. Ismaili replaces Ivan Balliu, whose time with the national team appears to be over.

There are no changes in goal, as Thomas Strakosha is still not ready. Anis Mehmeti, Marash Kumbulla and Sabah Kerjota are also absent from the squad.

As expected, Armando Broja has not been selected. Instead, Maran has called up Rey Manaj, Mirlind Daku, Myrto Uzuni and Cristian Shpendi for the two November fixtures.
