Deputy PM condemns masked protesters throwing stones at police

TIRANA, Nov. 7 /ATA/ – Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu has condemned acts of violence during Saturday’s protest outside the Ministry of Education in Tirana, after footage she shared on social media showed masked demonstrators throwing stones at police officers.

In her post, Koçiu denounced the violence and expressed support for the State Police.

“Masked, hiding behind burning rubbish bins and throwing stones at the State Police. This is their ‘project’ for Albania! Nothing new from the old front of disorder,” Koçiu said.

She also expressed her respect and gratitude to the police, stressing that there would be zero tolerance under the law for those responsible for setting fires.

Her remarks followed clashes outside the Education Ministry, where protesters threw stones and set fire to rubbish bins, while police used water cannon vehicles and pepper spray to disperse the crowd.
