Rama: The EU integration process is historic; it transforms the Albanian state

Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking during a conference with negotiators on Albania’s path toward the European Union, stated that the process carries significant weight. According to him, it is historic and transformative for the Albanian state.

“This process substantially increases the institutional capacities of the state. It brings extraordinary benefits and is irreplaceable. The general tendency is that it is often viewed superficially.

This process is historic because it transforms the Albanian state, strengthens institutional capacities, and enhances the rule of law. Furthermore, it consolidates justice institutions, which have entered a new phase and now enjoy a level of independence they have never had before.

Their professionalism must be further improved, and the quality of their services must increase. This process also ensures the fight against corruption—helping to prevent corruption and activities that take place in gray areas,” he said, among other remarks.
