Berisha: Rama Misled Citizens Regarding Fuel Prices

Opposition leader Sali Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of misleading citizens over fuel prices and of concealing failures in attracting foreign investments.

In a video message published today, Berisha criticized the increase in fuel prices set by the fuel board, emphasizing that this demonstrates the government’s direct influence on pricing. He called for a reduction in fuel taxes, which he described as “the foundation of the stratospheric fuel prices in Albania.”

“His board yesterday announced an increase in the price from 203 lekë to 215 lekë, proving that the board is protecting companies rather than citizens,” Berisha said.

The leader of the Democratic Party also criticized the Prime Minister’s statements on foreign investments, stressing that during Rama’s 12 years in power, no serious new investor has entered the country.

He mentioned projects that, according to him, were carried out during the Democratic Party’s governance, such as the Devoll Hydropower Cascade, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, and Shell’s investments, emphasizing that new investors have been leaving Albania.
