Rama: Albanians are facing a real opportunity to integrate into the EU

During a meeting with the Socialist Party Assembly in Unit 14 in Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that for the first time Albanians are facing a real opportunity to integrate into the European Union. He emphasized that the door for the country is open and that the support of major powers places Albania in a favorable position, underlining that this opportunity must be seized as there is also a risk that the door may close.

“You must keep in mind the times we are living in today. It is the first time that fortune is smiling upon Albanians; all the major powers are on Albania’s side. We have never had such a concrete opportunity to become part of the European club. It is an open door, but it can close, and it must not be missed for anything in the world. We cannot do anything about some misguided people who have no understanding and are trying to harm this opportunity that is smiling upon Albanians. The opposite would be the most dramatic thing—that we fail to make it,” said Rama.
