TIRANA, April 2 – After more than two decades, the legendary Spring Festival (Festivali i Pranverës) returns to the stage of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet on 6 and 7 June. The festival, organized with the support of the Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH), offers a platform for new voices and emerging talents to shine.
Artistic director and composer Alfred Kaçinari highlighted the festival’s role in promoting light Albanian music. “Festivals are crucial for the development of popular music in Albania. The Spring Festival focuses on young artists, as they often lack opportunities. Young performers drive change. Without RTSH, Albanian light music would not exist,” Kaçinari said. He emphasized that RTSH has long served as the main venue for recording, promoting, and shaping generations of artists.
Kaçinari also detailed the festival program during an interview on RTSH’s “Çasti i Duhur” [The Right Occasion] show. The first night will feature around 18 songs, with a selection advancing to the final night. The program will also include popular songs from previous editions, combining nostalgia with the energy of new talent.
The RTSH Symphony Orchestra will accompany the performances. Kaçinari called it “one of RTSH and Albania’s most treasured assets,” ensuring a high artistic level and a unique experience for the audience. “It is rare for singers to perform with an orchestra of this standard. Working with them is one of my greatest pleasures,” he added.
The festival marks a significant revival of Albania’s musical tradition. With RTSH’s backing, it bridges generations
