Minister of Health visits Berat Hospital, Sala: We will expand the range of tests

The Regional Hospital of Berat is undergoing reconstruction in several operating block services, while medical activity continues without interruption.

According to hospital authorities, the staff is handling the patient flow while ensuring basic services and laboratory examinations throughout the construction period.

During a visit to the hospital premises, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Evis Sala, stopped at the laboratory, where she closely reviewed the progress of diagnostic services.

In discussions with the staff, she emphasized that the number of tests has increased, mainly due to the rise in chronic disease cases, which has led to a heavier workload for laboratories.

The minister stated that laboratory examinations continue to be carried out daily, with priority given to emergency cases.

According to her, the possibility of expanding the range of tests is also being considered, including some molecular indicators, in cooperation with field specialists.

Infrastructure works and service interventions are expected to continue with the aim of improving conditions at the hospital.
