Rama: EU Integration Is a Chance Albania Cannot Miss

Prime Minister and Socialist Party leader Edi Rama said Albania faces a historic opportunity to join the European family.

He told the Socialist Assembly in Unit 14 that major powers now support Albanians concretely. He said Albania has never had such a clear chance to become a full EU member.

Rama warned that the opportunity is not permanent. He said the door can close, and this moment cannot be wasted. He called it unprecedented and extraordinary.

He criticized those who try to block Albania’s path. Rama said political struggles exist elsewhere, but no country has obstructed the Albanian process like some have attempted.

Rama said success will benefit future generations. He stressed that failure would carry dramatic consequences. If the door closes, reopening it will take years.

He highlighted the benefits of EU membership. Albanians can travel visa-free, gain access to funding, investments, programs, and assistance from the European family.

Rama said joining the EU strengthens individual rights and freedoms. It links each citizen’s fate to themselves while institutions guarantee their protections.
