Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha joined a virtual meeting called by UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper. Over 40 countries attended. They discussed the urgent need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz after Iran closed it amid ongoing conflict.
Hoxha said countries coordinate through diplomacy and politics to reopen the critical shipping route safely and sustainably. The route supports global energy security and economic stability.
He said, “Unity, coordination, and a rules-based approach are essential. Nations must respect freedom of navigation.”
Hoxha confirmed that Albania will work closely with partners and allies. He said Albania will support de-escalation efforts and contribute to collective solutions.
