The Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) announced that it will soon open a premiere exhibition of one of the most extraordinary artists of global Surrealism, Salvador Dalí.
The exhibition “Salvador Dalí” will open on April 9. It forms part of the “Argillet Collection,” curated by collector Christine Argillet. The collection presents a personal archive of rare engravings and drawings by Dalí, created between 1934 and the late 1970s.
Christine Argillet is the daughter of Pierre Argillet, a photographer and intellectual who mentored Dalí. She knew Dalí personally. She holds one of the most authentic archives of his works.
The exhibition has travelled across many countries. It will now arrive in Tirana. Christine Argillet remains one of the few people who can share personal insights into Dalí’s creative process and life.
Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) was a Spanish surrealist painter, engraver, and filmmaker. He mastered technique. He created dreamlike and strange images. He cultivated an extravagant public persona. He became famous for works such as The Persistence of Memory. He explored the subconscious. He developed the “paranoiac-critical method” to distort reality.
