Kosovo Investment in Albania Surges, Signaling Deeper Economic Integration

Kosovo-based companies increased their investments in Albania sharply over the past year. As a result, Kosovo now ranks among the country’s leading foreign investors.

According to the latest data from the Bank of Albania, investment inflows from Kosovo rose significantly. In the first nine months of 2025, they reached €153 million. This marks a 139% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the total stock of Kosovo’s investments grew substantially. By the end of the period, it reached around €550 million. This represents an annual increase of more than 40%.

This growth mainly reflects strategic acquisitions of local companies. Consequently, Kosovo businesses strengthened their presence in key sectors of the Albanian economy. These include fashion and food services, among others. In turn, this trend clearly shows a shift toward more diversified investments.

Experts note that this increase reflects more than rising interest from Kosovo businesses. It also signals stronger economic integration between the two countries. Moreover, it highlights growing confidence in Albania’s economic potential.
