New road to Ksamil nearing completion ahead of summer season

TIRANA, April 7 – Ksamil, a top tourist destination in southern Albania, is preparing for the summer season with improved access and infrastructure. Visitor numbers have risen in recent years, prompting upgrades to support tourism.

The new road connects Ksamil to the Pulëbardha beach junction. It features panoramic sidewalks and dedicated bike lanes. The project will make travel safer, faster, and more organized for both locals and visitors.

Albanian news agency (ATSH) reports that several sections are already complete. Authorities expect the entire project to finish before the peak tourist season begins.

Ksamil is often called the “Maldives of Europe” for its white sand beaches and clear waters. The road will improve visitor experience and help manage summer traffic.

Infrastructure improvements, combined with Ksamil’s natural beauty and cultural sites, boost its tourism and economic potential. The area lies between Saranda and Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tourists can enjoy a mix of nature, history, and leisure in one destination.

Local operators say the new road will ease movement, enhance safety, and support summer tourism. They expect it to strengthen Ksamil’s position as a key choice for both domestic and international visitors.
