PM Rama says EU accession talks advancing at “unique speed”

TIRANA, April 7 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said negotiations with the European Union are advancing at a “unique speed,” with strong support from the European Commission.

Speaking at an event on public sector job vacancies, Rama highlighted progress in the accession process and the role of public administration. He said Albania moves forward through its own efforts and the current geopolitical context.

He stressed that improvements in public administration support this progress, despite ongoing challenges. He added that Albania works closely with the European Commission, which has given a highly positive assessment. At the same time, discussions continue with EU member states on key interim benchmarks.

Rama described negotiations as a continuous process of testing and evaluation. He rejected claims that the process has stalled and said Albania remains on track with the agreed agenda.

He added that April will bring intensive discussions, after EU member states submitted questions at the end of March. These discussions will lead to decisions in the next phase.
