Rama: Number of factories and enterprises in Albania continues to grow

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited an industrial complex in Durrës today. Several companies operate there in transport, recycling, and industrial processing.

During the visit, Rama praised the companies’ growth. He said many started with limited resources and a big dream. Now they produce high-value products, like gold rings and pendants from electronic waste.

“Here, waste becomes a resource. It’s like a mini-mine creating added value,” Rama said. He added that this shows Albanians a working, productive Albania that often goes unnoticed.

Rama noted that people often ask online why factories aren’t opening. He emphasized that the number of factories and enterprises is growing. He pointed out the development of machinery, from simple tools to sophisticated, computer-controlled equipment. This increases both quality and value of work.

He also highlighted employee salaries in the private sector. “I didn’t ask the founders what they paid 20 years ago, but now salaries go up to €1,500. The average is over €1,000, a meaningful wage for today’s Albania. It will grow as the company reaches 40 skilled specialists,” Rama said.

Finally, Rama stressed the link between vocational schools and industry. He called for stronger connections. Schools should train students according to industrial needs. Companies should also identify promising students and support their studies. This builds loyalty and skilled labor for the future.
