Fuel Prices Increase in Albania

The Transparency Board held its regular meeting this Friday, April 10, 2026, where it set the ceiling prices for the sale of petroleum by-products in the country.

According to the decision, the retail price of diesel (standard SSH EN 590) will be no more than 217 ALL per liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 205 ALL per liter.

For gasoline, the retail price has been set at no more than 176 ALL per liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 164 ALL per liter.

The new prices will come into effect today, April 10, at 18:00, and will remain in force until the next Board meeting, where any potential market changes will be reflected.

Authorities have called on all wholesale and retail operators to strictly implement this decision. In case of violations, suspension of activity for the respective entities has been warned.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, emphasized its commitment to protecting consumer interests and ensuring fair competition in the market.

In an additional clarification, it was stated that, based on Normative Act No. 1 dated April 3, 2026, the reduced excise level applies only when prices exceed 220 ALL/liter for diesel and 200 ALL/liter for gasoline. Since current prices are below these thresholds, excise duty will be applied at the full level, 100%.
