Rama: Negotiations for Sazan project, state as co-investor

Edi Rama held a meeting in Vlora with tourism operators. He focused on tourism development and future investments.First, he said Albania is negotiating a major project on Sazan Island. He explained that the state is in talks with investors.

Moreover, he clarified the ownership issue. He said Albania has not sold Sazan Island. Therefore, the island remains state property. In addition, he said the state will join the project. It will act as a co-shareholder in a joint company.

Furthermore, he stressed that the project is not a closed resort. So, he said it will remain open and accessible. As a result, he described it as a cultural and artistic development. He added that it will include limited construction.

Also, he said the project will boost tourism in Vlora. It will increase property values and attract global investors. Moreover, he urged tourism operators to prepare. He said they must improve services for future demand.

Finally, he said international attention will grow. He claimed the project will signal that Albania is a safe place for investment.
