Prime Minister Edi Rama arrived in Italy on Thursday afternoon, where he was received with a state ceremony by his counterpart Giorgia Meloni.
Rama is expected to hold a meeting with Prime Minister Meloni, as well as with Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, focusing on joint projects and the strengthening of bilateral relations.
Afterward, Prime Minister Rama will travel to Barcelona, where, at the invitation of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, he will participate in the fourth meeting of the “In Defense of Democracy” Summit.
The summit will focus on key topics such as institutions and multilateralism, as well as disinformation and digital technology, with particular emphasis on regulating the digital environment, strengthening democratic institutions, and addressing inequalities as a fundamental element for a more sustainable democracy.
