Meloni after meeting Rama: Focus on defence and fight against irregular migration

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni commented after her meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in Rome. She said both countries continue to cooperate closely. She stressed that the main priority remains the fight against irregular migration.

Meloni said the meeting at Palazzo Chigi reviewed the strengthening of bilateral partnership. She highlighted cooperation in defence and migration control.

Rama visited Italy and was received in an official ceremony. He later held a one-on-one meeting with Meloni. The talks focused on bilateral cooperation and regional and European issues of common interest.

Rama also met Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto. After Rome, Rama will travel to Barcelona. He will continue international engagements and cooperation with European partners.
