Albania joins SEETAC, Malaj highlights regional economic cooperation

Finance Minister Petrit Malaj attended the launch meeting of the Southeast Europe Technical Assistance Center (SEETAC) in Washington. The initiative aims to strengthen institutional capacity in Southeast Europe. It also supports the design and implementation of economic and financial policies.

Malaj said Albania’s participation in SEETAC strengthens technical cooperation. He linked it to structural reforms and improved economic governance. He also connected the initiative to Albania’s EU integration process. He said it supports long-term institutional development.

Malaj praised Italy’s leadership in the initiative. He also highlighted the role of Banca d’Italia in providing technical assistance. He said the support helps modernize financial systems and strengthen institutions.

He added that SEETAC will improve regional coordination. It will also provide structured support for economic reforms in Southeast Europe. Malaj reaffirmed Albania’s commitment. He said the country will actively contribute to this new regional cooperation platform.
