TIRANA, April 21 – The United States Department of Justice Criminal Division met a senior delegation from Albania’s Special Anti-Corruption Structure in Washington on Monday. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation against corruption and transnational organised crime.
The Justice Department received the Albanian prosecutors alongside officials from the OPDAT programme. Both sides discussed coordination in investigations involving cross-border criminal networks.
Albanian anti-corruption institution SPAK presented its new leadership during the visit. US officials engaged with the delegation led by SPAK head Klodjan Braho.
Both sides reaffirmed cooperation with US agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration. They also highlighted joint work with the anti-corruption task force ICITAP (International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program) on international crime cases.
