Record state budget revenues, €240 million more than last year

Revenues from taxes and customs have increased by around €240 million at the beginning of this year. VAT and social contributions have recorded the most significant growth.

The state budget collected approximately 205 billion ALL in the first three months of the year. This figure is about 24 billion ALL, or €240 million, more than in January–March 2025.

Revenue collected from taxes increased by 7 billion ALL, reaching a total of 78 billion ALL.

Within this category, the highest growth was recorded in VAT revenue, with 25 billion ALL collected, or 19% more than in the first quarter of 2025. This item is directly linked to consumption, but during this period, price increases also appear to have had an impact.

From profit tax, 20 billion ALL were collected, or 13% more than in the first quarter of 2025.

Revenues from social and health contributions also increased by over 4.6 billion ALL compared to last year, as a result of rising wages and the formalization of many businesses that have regularized their payrolls.

Meanwhile, customs revenues were also 83 million ALL higher than last year, reaching 53 billion ALL.

On the other hand, total public expenditures for the three-month period reached approximately 156 billion ALL, or €153 million, achieving 93% of the planned target for the period.
