LVV MP “Wishes Life Imprisonment for Hashim Thaçi” – Albin Kurti Reacts

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted to a statement by a member of his party, Fatos Geci, who “wished life imprisonment for former president Hashim Thaçi.”

The head of government stated that the head of the LVV parliamentary group, Albulena Haxhiu, had warned MP Geci (from the Guxo party) about his language and comment, while emphasizing that they are convinced of the justness of the liberation war of the people of Kosovo.

“You know our position on the Special Court, which is an abnormal and non-transparent court. We are convinced of the justice of the liberation war of the people of Kosovo, led by the KLA, and of the innocence of the four leaders who are being unjustly held in The Hague. You witnessed that the Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, interrupted him and warned MP Geci because of both the language and the comment he made,” Kurti said.

During a session the previous night in the Assembly of Kosovo, Vetëvendosje MP Fatos Geci said that the fate of Hashim Thaçi would be the same as that of Naim Murseli, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Liridona Ademaj.

“Today, I want to welcome the court’s decision for life imprisonment against Naim Murseli. And you (addressing PDK MPs) who hope that your supreme leader will be released — he will face the same fate. But even if he is released, he has no credibility compared to Albin Kurti,” Geci stated.
