International student film festival in Tirana positions itself as new platform for young filmmakers

TIRANA, April 22 – The International Student Film Festival is being organized in Tirana as a new initiative supporting young filmmakers and strengthening links between film education and the industry. The project highlights student creativity while expanding professional opportunities in cinema.

The festival brings together animation, feature film and documentary categories. It allows students to present their work on an international platform and reach audiences beyond their academic environments.

Organisers said the programme prioritises professional development alongside competition. Masterclasses and workshops involve established film industry professionals who work directly with students.

One organiser said the initiative aims to connect students more closely with the film industry. They said it encourages practical engagement outside classrooms and closer exposure to production environments.

The festival establishes a new cooperation framework between artists, lecturers and film professionals. It seeks to become a reference point for student cinema and a bridge towards the international film market.
