Fire at “Farmacia 10”, Tirana Municipal Council approves financial aid for affected families

The Tirana Municipal Council has approved financial assistance for families affected by the fire in a residential building on Rruga e Dibrës. It is reported that at least 30 families will receive compensation of 40,000 lek per month as a rent bonus for temporary housing.

“Fortunately, based on the inspections, there were no fatalities or serious injuries. However, the fire caused significant damage to residential structures and rendered a considerable number of apartments nearly uninhabitable, creating an urgent need for housing for the affected families.

Our intervention to provide immediate financial assistance is not only grounded in the law, but also a necessity to ensure the protection of the lives, health, and dignity of the affected citizens. The proposed measure is based on the maximum subsidy values for Zone B of the Tirana territory, which amounts to 40,000 lek per month for each family in need.

The draft decision we propose is justified and proportional to the need to mitigate the emergency consequences and ensures that the Municipality of Tirana takes responsibility for the social support of those citizens directly affected by this tragic event,” said the acting mayor of Tirana, Anuela Ristani.
