Edi Rama said property issues affecting the Greek minority are the same as those affecting Albanians. He spoke during a discussion with Alexis Papahelas at the Delphi Economic Forum.
Rama said the government treats these cases as a nationwide problem. However, he stressed that authorities give special attention to areas with Greek minority communities. He explained that Albania lost private property for decades under communism. Therefore, the transition created overlapping ownership and complex disputes.
Meanwhile, Rama said the government has worked for years to clean records and digitize property data. He added that the same problems affect both ethnic Greeks and Albanians. Moreover, he described the Greek minority as a cultural treasure and said Albania respects their rights.
Finally, Rama praised Kyriakos Mitsotakis for defending minority concerns. He said Albania values the relationship with Greece and aims to strengthen mutual respect.
