RTSH begins formal reform process as Steering Council approves EBU-backed transformation plan

TIRANA, April 23 – Albania’s public broadcaster, Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH), has formally launched an institutional reform process following unanimous approval by its Steering Council. The decision marks the start of implementing a transformation plan supported by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

RTSH Director General Eni Vasili said the reform is based on cooperation with EBU experts over the past 10 months. She described the decision as the beginning of implementation of a wider strategy for restructuring and modernising the public broadcaster.

Steering Council Chairman Fatjon Hoxhalli said the reform aims to strengthen the public media institution and improve its performance. He said the changes are expected to create a more modern broadcaster closer to audiences.

Council members Osman Mula and Robert Budina said the process reflects extensive preparation in coordination with the EBU. They said recommendations were adapted to Albania’s conditions while maintaining core European broadcasting standards.
