Albanian Parliament holds a minute of silence for the passing of Rexhep Qosja

The Parliament of Albania held a minute of silence during today’s plenary session in honor of the passing of Rexhep Qosja.

The proposal was made by the head of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, who stated:

“Academician Rexhep Qosja, whose work represents an irreplaceable contribution to our national memory and our dignity as a nation, remains of vital importance. As a sign of respect for his contribution to the Albanian language, it is only fitting that we honor his legacy. In accordance with the rules of Parliament, once the chamber meets the protocol for such a solemn moment, we will commemorate his work by holding a minute of silence. The family has requested privacy and no official ceremony will be held. May the memory of Academician Rexhep Qosja be eternal,” said Balla.
