Albanian president addresses “American Dream at 250” forum during U.S. visit

TIRANA, April 23 – President Bajram Begaj of Albania is visiting the United States, where he took part as guest of honour in a forum titled “The American Dream at 250: Still Within Reach?” The event was organised by Texas A&M University and the George H. W. Bush School of Government and Public Service.

During the forum, Begaj addressed students and participants on democracy, leadership and the global influence of the United States. He described his personal path from doctor to military officer and later head of state, while reflecting on Albania’s past isolation under communism.

The forum forms part of a series hosted by the Bush School that brings together political leaders and academic experts. The “250” in the title refers to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, marking debates on the future of democratic values.

During his visit to Texas, Begaj met local officials and received the “Key to the City” of Conroe. He also paid tribute at the memorial of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush and at a veterans memorial in Montgomery County.
